Runyoro is a language spoken by Banyoro in western Uganda and in some eastern parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It belongs to the Bantu group of languages, which are spoken widely in east, central and southern Africa.

Runyoro is very similar to Rutooro, the main difference being in the intonation. It is also close to Runyankore and Rukiga. The four languages are sometimes grouped together as "Runyakitara". A course in Runyakitara is offered by the Institute of Languages at Makerere University.

In Uganda, Runyoro speakers are concentrated in Bunyoro, which covers the districts of Hoima, Kibaale and Masindi. Different dialects of the language are spoken in different parts of the region.
